In case you don’t know, there are over 20 different variations of blackjack (21). A majority of these variations are available online too. This is great for someone like me, as I prefer to have as much variety as possible when playing casino games online.
When shopping for a blackjack site to play your favorite variation at, it’s important to keep in mind that one site will likely be different from the next. One site might offer more variations, have more traffic or better odds. These are all important things to consider, as they will affect how enjoyable the casino is to you, not mention affect the amount of money you can win or lose. I’ve discussed these factors in more detail below.

Blackjack Sites: Variations, Traffic & Buy-Ins
This should go without saying, but the first thing you should look at before signing up to a site to play blackjack is that they have all the variations you want to play. Some casinos will have more variations than others will and sites that have the same number of variations will likely offer different ones than other sites.
You should also look at variations of game formats. 2 popular variations include tournaments and sit and go’s. If you want to play these, you’ll also want to take a look at how much traffic the site receives, and more specifically, how much traffic these game formats receive. The more traffic, the better, as this will mean the games are running regularly.
Checking out buy-in amounts is important too — the minimum and/or maximum wager allowed per hand. If you can only afford to play $5/hand, it doesn’t make a ton of sense to sign up to a casino that only has tables with $10/hand or higher. Online casinos do vary quite a bit on their maximums too. Some will offer $500 a hand while others cap out at $50/hand. So if this is important to you, be sure to check first before signing up.
Blackjack Sites: Odds & Payouts
Equally as important are the odds and payouts of the variations you like to play.
The odds will certainly vary from variation to variation, but they can even vary for the same variation from site to site. Payouts will be different too. Some sites are more generous than others are.
So what I suggest you do is shop around. It doesn’t make sense for you to play at a site if another one offers better odds and payouts (barring personal reasons or other site factors of course). Don’t slack on this either. The difference of 1% or 5% even might not seem like a big deal, but it does add up over time — especially if you play higher stakes blackjack games.
